2010 Big Meat Run

10th Anniversary meetup!

WHEN: March 12-14th 2010

What is it?

The BMR is an event that brings out all the big boys and their BIG toys.  EVERYONE is welcome - you won't want to miss this.  You'll see what's new, what's old, what's huge and what's not...This event started out as an event for people with 35" or bigger tires.  The bar has been raised and some say it's around 40", but you'll see 54"++ from time to time.  You don't gotta be a big giant to follow and watch the action though.  Just show up and have a blast! Last year was one of the biggest runs yet despite the weather on Saturday morning. There were 362 registered drivers, and over 2000 spectators! lets make this year even bigger and better!!

The event will be Friday and Saturday, but Im sure there will be leftovers on Sunday. Registration will start at 9:00 on Saturday. T shirts and Hoodies will be for sale also. There will be a Raffle at 6:00 PM on Saturday.

If you are new to the Gettin Bent crew, then allow me to let you in on a little secret.  These guys like to go BIG!  Want to know what I mean? Well, just join on in to the forum and check out some of the local fabrication that is going on.  The GBO President himself is in the middle of a massive 4 seater buggy that he is tackling mostly on his own.  From design to development and thru to deployment, with the help of a few friends of course, he is in the middle of creating one of the area's toughest rigs.  See for yourself.

He started out with a simple idea to build a rig, bigger than his already HUGE Jeep, but safer for his family..

Then it was time to get all the images out of his head on into the shop!

Gallery is being setup like the old one was - but with many custom options for new members - bare with us as we work out the kinks - but this new year should bring us LOTS of Four Wheelin action and a great action packed website to document everyone's adventures - Looking forward to helping everyone on their journeys in this Tech world...talk to ya soon!

We should be ready for production!

When I get some more time, I will begin to write up some of the most common features this new site will offer everyone. 

Things like the Gallery - it's now linked to your web account, so now each user has the ability to create their own user gallery and upload their own pictures to it!!  This will be a great load of the current admins that were having to do this work for everyone.  Now you are responsible for your own pictures in that gallery!  Yay! 

The FAQ link - This is where we can list locations of where everyone wheels - Misc safety tips and any other Frequently asked questions can go here and be answered so even non-members just checking out the club can get access too.

The Members Ride link - This is still controlled by our admins, but is easily updated - In fact, as we moved data from the original site to the new site, we saw there were a lot of old profiles here - and it might be a good time to get some updates to your rigs and maybe add any new members - retire non-members etc.

The Downloads link - All the official club forms will be kept here.  Anything else we come up with can have a group created for it as well.  

More great ideas to come - and I welcome any comments or feedback that you would like to give!  See ya in the forums (which btw, are part of the main site login too!)  Yay for integration!
