GRAND LAKE DAM

Disney (Langley) is located in NE Oklahoma, approximately an hour's drive from Tulsa.

TRAIL INFORMATION There are three major spillways hosting some of the best and most extreme rock crawling in this area of the country. There are plenty of rock ledges, rock walls, waterfalls and rock piles to 4-wheel on in all 3 spillways. For those interested in more scenic fun, there are dozens of trails leading through the woods below the dams. These range from casual zigzags thru the trees, to muddy swamps, to nasty loose hill climbs.
Trail rating is from stock to extreme.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS

From Tulsa:
1. Take I-44 East toward Joplin (28 miles).
2. Take Adair exit, Exit# 269.
3. Turn Left onto highway OK-28 going East.
4. Follow highway OK-28 into Langley.
5. At 'Y', turn right (South). OK-28 merges with OK-82.
6. Follow OK-28/OK-82 approximately 2 miles, then turn left on OK-28.
7. Follow OK-28 across Grand Lake dam and into Disney OK.
From Joplin:
1. Take I-44 West toward Tulsa (47 miles).
2. Take Vinita exit, Exit# 289.
3. Turn Left onto highway OK-60 going East.
4. Turn South on highway OK-82 (4 miles).
5. Follow OK-82 south into Langley (11 miles).
6. Turn Left onto OK-28 East.
7. Follow OK-28 across Grand Lake dam and into Disney OK.

The land is owned and operated by GRDA (Grand River Dam Authority) and with their blessing we have made it home to NE Oklahoma's premier wheelin' spot.

Remember, you are playing in the flood zone from Grand Lake. They will blow a horn 30min before opening the gates. If flood conditions are possible, pay attention to activity around the dam. The horn will sound once, but may not sound again during the 30 minute wait! If you just arrived and you don't see anyone on the rocks, wait a while or flag down a GRDA or Park Ranger and check first. Also, there is access to the trails if the gates are open. However, be aware you may find yourself driving down a steep hill into a flooded valley. If there is water flowing, take a walk down the hill before you commit.

NOTICE FROM GRDA:

Due to new "Homeland Security" measures, GRDA has asked that 4-wheel activity be limited in the spillways and the main dam areas. At this time they ask that no activity take place north of the electric line right-of-ways in these areas. You are still permitted in areas south of the right-of-ways.

Tell me about MANNFORD WHITE WATER PARK, KEYSTONE DAM?

MANNFORD WHITE WATER PARK KEYSTONE DAM TRAIL INFORMATION

Terrain includes sand, loose gravel, trails, deep water, and some big mud holes. Riding area is 80 acres.

LOCATION Located 15 miles west of Tulsa OK between highway 51 and highway 64. WHERE TO STAY There are many camping spots all around the lake. The closest is Keystone State Park. There are 330 miles of shoreline surrounding Keystone. Visitors can enjoy boating, fishing, camping, hunting, hiking, picnicking and swimming while at Keystone. They can stay in one of 20 parks equipped for RV or tent camping, or choose one of the hotels nearby or a cabin at Keystone State Park.

Location of Keystone State Park:

Ten miles west of Sand Springs on U.S. 412, then ½ mile south on Keystone Dam Road, which is located between U.S. 64 and State Highway 51 in northeastern Oklahoma.

Tell me about Waynoka, OK - LITTLE SAHARA STATE PARK

TRAIL INFORMATION

Little Sahara offers the perfect "oasis" for off-road vehicle enthusiasts with 1520 acres of rideable sand dunes ranging in height from 25 to 75 feet. There is an area of flat sand for those sand-draggin' times, as well as a special trail that encompasses the area offering plenty of scenic views, including the Glass Mountains. In fact, this area has some locations with cottonwood groves and trails branching out through them. As with any sandy area, in the heat of the summer it is best to stay clear because it gets too hot. There is a $7 dollar a day dune access fee and camping is encouraged.

LOCATION

Little Sahara State Park is located in NW Oklahoma, 4 miles south of Waynoka on Hwy. 281.

WHERE TO STAY For those who want to stay and play, picnic and camping facilities are available, and seasonal concession stands provide refreshment. The Park offers 3 reservable picnic shelters seating up to 80 people. There are 139 non-assigned campsites in two campgrounds with comfort stations and showers; 42 semi-modern sites (electrical and water) with a dump station for RVs; and 97 unimproved sites in the two campgrounds for tents. Beaver Lake State Park has 18 campsites: modern campsites (electric, water and sewer hook-ups), semi-modern campsite (electric and water hook-ups), primitive campsite (no hook-ups, water faucet nearby), dump station.

TRAIL INFORMATION

ORV Park consists mostly of trails, some rock ledges, and mud holes. Trail riding ranges from stock vehicles to modified vehicles. There are also many ATV and motorcycle trails throughout the park.

LOCATION

The Camp Gruber ORV Park is located on the West side of Highway 10, approximately 8 miles South of the junction with Highway 62 & Highway 10, and 4 miles North of the Town of Braggs, Oklahoma.

Tell me about Clayton and the KIAMICHI MOUNTAINS

TRAIL INFORMATION

Clayton is located in the Southeast part of the state in the Kiamichi Mountains. There are 3 privately owned ORV parks where you can 4-wheel. They are all pay to play places and host some of the best 4-wheelin’ in the state. These 3 private properties offer enough wheeling to last for weeks. There are trails for stock vehicles to the most extreme 4x4 out there. Go prepared and go with a friend. You don’t want to get stuck on these trails alone.

MR. FRIELING’S ORV PARK Mr. Frieling’s ORV Park is located about 15 miles north of town and the cost is $10 a day to 4-wheel. Take highway 2 north, turn right on highway 63, go approximately 1 mile to the first available left (north), make the next first available left (west), then make your first available right. This road turns to dirt. Follow it to a white gate with a white sign that says Mr. Frieling’s. You’ll enter here and drive to the gas pump and pay $10. There is plenty of parking at the top of the hill. Most of the trails are named and rated so you’ll know the difficulty of the trail before you enter. GREEN ACRES ORV PARK Green Acres is located on the west side of Clayton. The ORV Park is $10 a day to 4-wheel. From US 271 that runs through the middle of town go west on Douglas to 3rd street. Turn right (north) and drive till you come to a garage. Park your truck and trailer behind it (if you have one) and exit on the north side of the parking lot. Turn left on the paved road (it will turn into a dirt road). Enter the park on the left at the top of the hill and pay $10 at the transmission stand. The trails are named and rated so you’ll know the difficulty of the trail before you enter.

ED HURLIMAN ORV PARK

Ed’s ORV Park is located 5 miles south of town. The park costs $14 a day and hosts some of the most famous trails such as 3-stage and Rock Creek. Go south out of Clayton on Highway 2 & 271. When it splits off at the end of town, remain on Highway 271. Go southeast on Highway 271 just 2.5 miles to Nine Pine Road. (First left past Hurd Creek) Look for RV/Camping signs. Turn left at the “T” in the road on Nine Pine Road and go ½ mile. Turn right at the next road you can. You will see the Indian Mounds Camp sign. Pay Jess, the camp host, $14, sign a waiver and enter the ORV Park through Jess’ gate.
